THE HAND & CROWN

Our 16th Century Inn is the oldest Inn in Hertfordshire and is famous for it’s warm welcome and delicious home-made food.

The site of The Hand & Crown was popular with King Henry VIII and his then wife, Anne Boleyn. They were both avid falconists.
Our logo represents the hand “Gauntlet” and Crown “Falcon Hood”.

Dome Dining

Great evening for a group of 8 in one of these lovely domes. Friendly attentive staff who braved the cold efficiently to keep us topped up with drinks and serve our food.

Great service. Lovely food. Lovely pub restaurant. We had the pleasure of dining here last Saturday evening. The food was lovely. The service was very good. It’s always difficult to get a table but I plan to return soon.

Haven’t been to this venue for many years as I moved out of the area. Came back for the evening to celebrate a family birthday. The food was amazing! Fantastic choice and super generous portions.
